The Lady and the Tramp!

One of the dogs here is a schnauzer named Sophie, and Miss Sophie is in love with a mutt named Malecon (Fonsy -my friend- owns both dog and does not want them to reproduce).
Well Sophie lives in the back yard and Malecon lives in the front yard, there is an alley and a door that conects the yards, she started going thru' the bars of the door to go to him!!
I called Fonsy and told her that and she told me to put her in the back yard house, this is what she did:

25 Random Facts...

A lot of blogs are doing the 25 random facts and I decided to go ahead and post:

25 Random Facts about Our Wedding

1. I really wanted to get married on December 13th, because December is my favorite month of the year and 13 is my favorite number, but a lot of people had to travel for our wedding and where not going to be able to make it so close to the holiday (we ended up with Dec 2nd).
2. I hardly knew anything about the decoration and all the planning going on, my mother made everything for me… and I LOVED IT… a lot of people said I was weird because of that but I really hate that kind of stuff and she is soooo good at it! So every time she would ask me something I would say YOU pick it!
3. My mother in law accidentally hit my eye with a broom the day before my wedding; lucky for me it didn’t turn black and no scar!
4. Bayohán had fever the morning of our wedding, everyone though he was nervous, but he actually was sick in our honeymoon too!
5. Our photographer was crying in the ceremony (I though he was just being corny) and had to leave after he took the important pictures because his brother got killed and they called him… he did leave his assistants behind to take the rest of the pics and videos.
6. I lost 60 pounds for my wedding. I needed to loose weight at that time and that was my inspiration.

7. We both ate and dance a lot that day, I’ve always heard about people not doing this things, so we decided “hey! is a once in a lifetime thing and we are going to ENJOY it”… WE DID!
8. I designed my cake, it was a camouflage (fake cake) the real thing was in the back; here in DR a lot of people are doing that, a fake cake you don’t cut that is amazingly cute and the real thing is cut in the back and taken out when it is cake time ;)
9. We had aprox. 150 guests.
10. I only have one sister and she couldn’t come because she lives in Australia.
11. Our first song/dance was “Tu” (You in English) from Juan Luis Guerra (a famous artist here in DR).
12. I had something old (the fluffy thing you put under your dress skirt), something new (dress, earrings, crown and almost everything), something borrowed (same as the old) and something blue (my underwear :p).
13. The husband of the lady doing my dress died 3 days before my wedding and the dress was not finished… she finished it anyways and I will always be thankful to her for that!
14. We had cute little angels as souvenirs.
15. At the church we gave out some cute little sticks with bells on the top, so people will shake them during the ceremony.
16. Bayohán didn’t want the food to be served… he kept saying if we do people will leave after… so it was a late dinner.
17. One of my best friends was my maid of honor, plus my nephew and niece where flower girl and ring boy and that was it, I didn’t wanted to coordinate dresses for a lot of girls :p
18. My grandfather entered with me in the church, but my step dad gave me away.
19. At the beginning of the ceremony at church the priest said the wrong names, and his secretary had to run to get the correct paper with OUR names in the office.
20. It rained in the morning that day but the night (our wedding was at night) was beautiful!
21. Our decoration was a beautiful “Fall Theme”.
22. One of my best friend broke her leg that day, so she was in a wheel chair; she jokes that she did it for good luck ;p
23. I never saw my maid of honor, flower girl dresses or the ring boy clothes until the wedding :o I just trusted them to do it right.
24. My mother wanted me to rest that day as she was running the last errands for the wedding, I said NO WAY if I stay home I will be too anxious so I just went with her, everyone we saw that day kept saying: what are you doing here? You should be relaxing at home.
25. It was REALLY the happiest day of my life!

I was at a Pizza Hut here in DR and guess what was going on???!!

A wedding!!!

Yes you read right a wedding! I dont know the details because we only saw it from our table, but I guess they though it would be neat to get married in Pizza Hut,LOL, and NO they did not serve pizza on the buffet, they should have, it would have been an even nicer touch :D

FFF- Eyes

Favorite Foto Friday is about Eyes this week :D

And this small family has only two set of eyes :p

one is dark brown, ohh how I love my brown eyed beauty!

and the other one is light brown :p

And that huge thing in front of Bayo is a Dominican Lollypop, I was in love with them when I was little ;) we call them Chavo pops (refering to a popular mexican tv show, El Chavo del Ocho, that the caracters used to eat them).

WHY??

I live in the Dominican Republic a beautiful island in the Caribbean, wish means I get the "good weather", remember?

And if you dont belive me, check this out: Because of its almost year-round warmth and sunshine, some people refer to the Dominican Republic's climate as"endless summer."

You see, since we have such "nice" weather we only buy a washer, no dryer -what for if we have the beautiful sun to dry our clothes!?

We just hang them outside and they dry so fast and with a nice smell :D

But this only happens if I'm NOT doing my laundry, because EVERYTIME I do, for some reason it rains, it is a given fact that if I decide to wash our clothes it will rain! The weather folks here in DR should hire me!

So this is how my house looks today....

Yep, my already dry clothes got wet when out of the blue it started raining, I had to carry them all in, get wet with the bad cold I have and "hang" them inside... why? because even on the sunniest day it rains (if I'm doing laundry OF COURSE!).

Blog break? NOT really!

The reason for my lack of post lately is that I've been down with a horrible cold :( I've done everything for it and still one week later I still have it!
And dont even get me started in the horrible things coming out of my nose (OK, too much info, right?).
Anyways I will be back to my usual self in no time, I HOPE!

FFF- Cold?!?

Well... NOT REALLY!!!


We live in the caribbean and it is never cold here!

Or at least what we think is cold is not cold really, does that even makes sense?

To explain myself a little better will you belive it was actually cold on this picture?

For us it was!! look at the tiny rain spot on Bayo's shirt :p

We love our "good" weather all year long, but sometimes we just wish we could have a little cold weather once in a while because it gets REALLY hot here!!

Around the Blog World... I {HEART} Cooking

I follow a couple of blogs, and one that I do posted a recipe that brought a BIG smile to my face :) Dominican Rice and Beans (the girl is not Dominican wich gave me an even bigger smile), this is a dish we eat EVERYDAY, not me, but Dominicans in general -I used to back at home when I was little- and I love doing it once in a while for Bayo, for us is nothing special, but when you havent eaten it in month you miss it like CRAZY :p

Happy 3 King Day

I know that not all the countries celebrate it, but today is the day we commemorate when the Three kings visited the newly born Christ Child in Bethlehem bearing him gifts. This is an important day here and the 3 Kings will visit every good child to deliver them gifts. Children collect grass and place it in boxes or containers under their beds for the cammels.
